Our general workflow is as follows:
- Inspect specimen and mount.
- Image specimen.
- Extract fungal and host DNA.
- Quantify DNA recovered.
- Perform PCR on diagnostic fungal and host loci.
- Confirm amplification by gel electrophoresis.
- Sequence amplicons user Sanger method.
- Add sequences to growing phylogenetic trees.
